Corporate Legal Counsel

As a technology leader in healthcare process automation and interoperability, Smart Data Solutions (SDS) is a strategic partner that utilizes data and intelligent automation to digitally transform operations and deliver outcomes for clients which reduces costs, streamlines workflows, and improves overall customer experience. Looking to the future, Smart Data Solutions has ambitious growth plans for the next few years and is currently seeking a Corporate Legal Counsel to join our growing team.

The Corporate Legal Counsel will oversee the legal and compliance activities for the organization – this includes onshore and offshore. This employee will provide hands-on legal support for a wide variety of matters, including M&A, procurement, customer contracts, and other areas. The successful candidate will have a proactive and practical approach and a strong customer-focused mindset. This position will manage one employee and report to the Chief Administration Officer.

What you’ll be doing

Principal Responsibilities:

• Manage all legal and compliance activities within our business – partner with the leadership team to drive growth
• Establish a proactive and agile legal and compliance management approach to support all aspects of our business
• Provide efficient contracting, balancing need for pace with risk management (clients, partners, vendors, etc.)
• A focal point for contracts integration – as we complete further M&A and evolve our business
• Manage external legal resources – onshore and offshore
• Provide M&A support – working with external legal advisors and a broader diligence team
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills:

• 5+ years of corporate legal experience
• Experience with the healthcare industry
• Prior Private Equity portfolio company experience is preferred
• Proven ability to problem solve and have a client-focused mindset
• Ability to build a strong partnership with leaders across the business
• Background working with M&A is preferred
