JMS and Associates, a Smart Data Solutions Company, is looking to the future.  As a technology leader in healthcare process automation and interoperability, Smart Data Solutions (SDS), is a strategic partner that utilizes data and intelligent automation to digitally transform operations and deliver outcomes for clients – reducing costs, streamlining workflows, and improving the overall customer experience.  Smart Data Solutions has ambitious growth plans for the next few years and is currently seeking a Systems Administrator to oversee our network and server infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing?

Responsibilities:

  • Ticketing & Troubleshooting
    1. Respond to and work to resolve tickets in the IT Support ticketing queue
    2. Respond to and work to resolve tickets in the FTP Support ticketing queue
    3. Provision new laptops and workstations according to applicable roles and checklists
  • Maintenance
    1. Perform corrective procedures to ensure:
      • Sufficient disk space is available on monitored volumes
      • Monitored RAID systems are in good health
      • SAN replication is executing as expected
      • Database replication is current to all slave databases
      • Web servers and balancing configurations are performing as expected
      • Production-related software modules are performing as expected
  • Development & Provisioning
    1. Develop new SDS software modules and utilities in order to support production, operations, and customer support
    2. Configure and deploy new server hardware and virtual servers
    3. Configure and deploy new storage hardware
  • Documentation
    1. Create documentation for all hardware and software installation and configuration procedures
    2. Use existing documentation when performing procedures, and update if necessary
    3. Document results of general troubleshooting
  • Backup
    1. Perform regularly scheduled external backups of critical SDS resources
    2. Store backup disks in an off-site location and rotate
  • Vulnerability Management and Security Configuration
    1. Remediate identified vulnerabilities in software applications, operating systems, and networking infrastructure
    2. Identify and remediate vulnerabilities in the QuickClaim web application, and other SDS web applications as needed
    3. Execute system hardening in accordance with hardening checklists and CIS profile scan results
    4. Suggest and implement new systems and configurations that enhance the security posture of SDS
    5. Remain up to date on the latest information security trends and methods
  • Other duties as assigned

What we’re looking for?

Education and Experience: 

  • 2-year or 4-year CS or IT-related degree, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Operations Systems (Workstation and Server)
  • Experience with Linux Operating Systems, MySQL database, Java, and Shell Scripting

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours as defined by the department manager.

This is a hybrid position at the Michigan office.
