April Gill
CCO

April joined Smart Data Solutions in 2024 as the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), overseeing an integrated commercial team that combines sales, solutions, and marketing to optimize our Go to Market approach.

April’s background includes senior executive positions in the healthcare industry. Most recently, she served as Chief Commercial Officer at Tabula Rasa HealthCare, where she oversaw strategy, product, marketing, communications, sales, account management, and customer success. Prior to Tabula Rasa, April was the General Manager for the health plan and systems market at Virgin Pulse and Chief Strategy Officer at Welltok, which was later acquired by Virgin Pulse.

April has dedicated her 20+ year career to advancing healthcare efficiency, access, and outcomes with a focus on driving strategic and accelerated growth at scale. In her role at SDS, she will spearhead efforts to drive revenue growth, enhance client experience, and streamline our go-to-market strategies.

April holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire. She is based in New Hampshire and splits her time between New Hampshire and Boston.

Benjamin Gust
Leader - Solution Architecture & Support

Ben Gust started his career with Smart Data Solutions in 2007 as a Developer following his college graduation. During his tenure with SDS, he has worked in supporting existing client workflows, designing and implementing customer workflows, leading the implementation and support teams and has now moved to leading our Solutions Architecture team.

Ben is responsible for understanding our clients’ objectives and bringing in solutions that solve their existing challenges and scale to support future growth. The solutions need to minimize risk and time to value, while maximizing long term ROI and scalability.

Ben graduated from The University of Wisconsin – Stout in 2007 with his bachelor’s degree in Applied Math and Computer Science.

Ben and his wife keep busy with traveling and spending time with their two young daughters. In his spare time, Ben also enjoys socializing with friends and working on his house.

Ben Gust started his career with Smart Data Solutions in 2007 as a Developer following his college graduation. Chuck Rolfsen joined Smart Data Solutions in 2022 as the Senior Vice President of Sales, where he leads the Client Partnership team.

Prior to joining Smart Data Solutions, Chuck worked for Healthx and Vital Data Technology, where he held a variety of sales roles. Throughout his career, his focus on “solving the customer’s problem” has successfully led to developed sales and customer-facing teams in the member engagement, population health, risk adjustment, and quality management healthcare technology space. His teams have worked with all payers from large Blue Plans to small Third-Party Administrators.

At Smart Data Solutions, his team has a deep understanding of the business needs and challenges faced by Payers and works with our clients to successfully assist them in automating the business process that supports their operational and business initiatives.

Chuck earned his BA at Thomas More University, then went on to earn his MSW at the University of Kentucky. Chuck follows the Kentucky Wildcats each year as they pursue their next national title and works to bring that same passion and excitement to his work at SDS.

In his free time, Chuck enjoys spending time with his wife and family and keeping up with the sports teams that he is passionate about.

Dana Sokoll
Human Resources

Dana Sokoll joined Smart Data Solutions in 2022 as the Director of HR. Dana is a human resources professional with over 15 years of experience and diverse background in talent acquisition, organizational development, and global HR management.

As the current Director of HR, Dana is responsible for talent acquisition, establishing onboarding programs, benefits planning and renewals, promoting growth and retention for current employees, and policy compliance. Dana’s strengths include forward-thinking, building strong collaborative teams, and change management.

Before joining SDS, Dana worked as the Director of People and Culture at Siteimprove, overseeing all aspects of HR, including the employee life cycle, employee relations, HR policies and programs, talent acquisition, and total rewards. She also drove strategic people-focused initiatives with global HR leaders in Denmark while partnering with C-level executives and senior leadership on organizational effectiveness. Her other experiences include working as a Talent Acquisition Manager, Account Manager, and multiple recruitment-geared roles.

Dana graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor of Science degree in HR Management and Business Administration. After college, she started her career in sales and recruiting. In that field, she helped a recruiting company double in size and, over time, grew into a leadership role overseeing the company’s largest operations. From there, she applied her business experience to her HR knowledge to become the strategic HR leader she is today.

Dana enjoys spending her free time with her husband and three boys, playing volleyball with her good friends, watching movies, playing card games, and scrapbooking.

Dave Koepke
COO

Dave joined Smart Data Solutions in 2024 as the Chief Operating Officer, owning end-to-end operations of all SDS service offerings as well as delivery governance.

Dave’s background includes senior executive positions at the intersection of operations and finance in leading healthcare and financial services companies. Most recently, Dave was Executive Vice President of Operations at Datavant, the country’s largest medical data exchange. Prior to Datavant, Dave was Senior Vice President at Voya Financial, a leading insurance and investment management firm. Dave started his career at J.P. Morgan Chase, and went on to become their Business Operations Head where he built the company’s first operations-focused shared services organization to consolidate and optimize multiple business lines as part of an enterprise-wide transformation. Dave holds a degree in Finance from the University of Nebraska.

In his free time, Dave loves spending time with his wife, Jen, and their four children.

Garry Welsh
CAO/CFO

Garry joined Smart Data Solutions in 2022 as Chief Administration and Financial Officer. Garry brings over 30 years experience building and growing businesses in the healthcare and financial sectors; this includes extensive M&A activity. Most recently, Garry served as CAO/CFO at a leading TPA. Before that, Garry played a key role in building global businesses for Barclays Bank and Aviva.

Garry completed his professional education in the United Kingdom as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Certified Accountants. He earned his MBA from Rollins College in the United States.

In his free time, Garry loves spending time with his wife, their four children, and six grandchildren. He loves to explore the mountains of North Carolina on his mountain bike whenever he can.

Patrick Bores
CTO - Technology and Product Innovation

Patrick Bores joined Smart Data Solutions in 2004 following the completion of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota. He started as a software developer and has overseen development, infrastructure, implementations, and security before taking over product and technology. Patrick has led the development of many of SDS’ foundational products and technologies, implemented our HITRUST-certified security program, and executed the integration of the ClaimLynx clearinghouse acquisition.

Prior to joining Smart Data Solutions, Patrick worked as a web programmer and system administrator at an ISP in downtown Minneapolis. He’s been programming computers since the age of 11. He currently holds a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.

She has since spent more than two decades as in-house counsel, providing legal guidance to a range of organizations, ensuring that operational and product strategies align with regulatory standards and client needs.

A graduate of Georgia Southern University, summa cum laude, Stephanie earned her Juris Doctorate with Distinction from Emory University School of Law. A member of the Georgia Bar since 1995, she brings a deep understanding of the healthcare technology landscape and its unique challenges. Currently, Stephanie is based in Tampa, Florida.
