Shashi Yadiki
CEO

Shashi Yadiki joined Smart Data Solutions in 2022 as Chief Executive Officer. Shashi brings over 20 years of experience scaling tech-enabled and data-driven healthcare businesses as a proven leader in healthcare services and technology. Most recently, Shashi served as President of the Health Plan and Life Sciences business for NTT DATA, helping healthcare organizations execute their digital transformation objectives. Before NTT DATA, Shashi held leadership roles at Dell Services and Wipro Technologies.

Shashi is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and the University of Mysore.

Pierre Kormann
COO

Pierre Kormann joined Smart Data Solutions in 2018 to manage the daily operations of the Document Intake Processing Centers, Data Entry Facility in Superior, WI and Quality and Production teams. Before joining Smart Data, Pierre was COO at Storeworks Technology, a provider of retailer technology and consulting, where he was responsible for day to day company management, including sales development, PMO, engineering, logistics and IT. Prior to Storeworks, Pierre was COO at Comm-Works, a global technology systems integrator, where he was responsible for leading PMO, engineering, vendor management, procurement, logistics and field operations.

After graduating from St. Olaf College with a his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Philosophy, Pierre earned his Master’s degree from Northeastern University and later his MBA from the University of Saint Thomas – School of Business. Pierre has been an active member of Vistage.

Pierre and his wife enjoy spending time with their three children, volunteering and traveling.

Patrick Bores
CIO

Patrick Bores joined Smart Data Solutions in 2004 following his college graduation. Patrick started as a developer and worked his way up to his current position of Chief Information Officer. Patrick has led the development of many of SDS’ foundational products and technologies. He is also responsible for leading SDS security and technical operations.

Prior to joining Smart Data Solutions, Patrick worked in college as a web programmer and system administrator at Winternet, an ISP formerly located in downtown Minneapolis. Before that, he’d been programming computers since the age of 11. He currently holds a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.

Patrick graduated from The University of Minnesota with his bachelors degree in Computer Science.

In his spare time, Patrick enjoys dining out with his wife and their two children, as well as nurturing a layman’s interest in aviation, philosophy, and swimming pool maintenance.

Garry Welsh
CAO/CFO

Garry joined Smart Data Solutions in 2022 as Chief Administration and Financial Officer. Garry brings over 30 years experience building and growing businesses in the healthcare and financial sectors; this includes extensive M&A activity. Most recently, Garry served as CAO/CFO at a leading TPA. Before that, Garry played a key role in building global businesses for Barclays Bank and Aviva.

Garry completed his professional education in the United Kingdom as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Certified Accountants. He earned his MBA from Rollins College in the United States.

In his free time, Garry loves spending time with his wife, their four children, and six grandchildren. He loves to explore the mountains of North Carolina on his mountain bike whenever he can.

Prior to joining Smart Data Solutions, Chuck worked for Healthx and Vital Data Technology, where he held a variety of sales roles. Throughout his career, his focus on “solving the customer’s problem” has successfully led to developed sales and customer-facing teams in the member engagement, population health, risk adjustment, and quality management healthcare technology space. His teams have worked with all payers from large Blue Plans to small Third-Party Administrators.

At Smart Data Solutions, his team has a deep understanding of the business needs and challenges faced by Payers and works with our clients to successfully assist them in automating the business process that supports their operational and business initiatives.

Chuck earned his BA at Thomas More University, then went on to earn his MSW at the University of Kentucky. Chuck follows the Kentucky Wildcats each year as they pursue their next national title and works to bring that same passion and excitement to his work at SDS.

In his free time, Chuck enjoys spending time with his wife and family and keeping up with the sports teams that he is passionate about.

Vice President of Implementation & Service

Ben Gust started his career with Smart Data Solutions in 2007 as a Developer following his college graduation. During his tenure with SDS Ben has worked his way up to his most recent position of Vice President of Implementation & Service. Ben has directly implemented or overseen the implementing team on 400+ implementations and thousands of statements of work.

Ben is responsible for a consistent customer experience during both the implementation and ongoing support of an account. He works with the development staff to ensure that the development team meets project requirements without introducing any workflow regressions. He’ll also collaborate with customers to automate/streamline to increase efficiency on high-cost workflows.

Ben graduated from The University of Wisconsin – Stout in 2007 with his bachelor’s degree in Applied Math and Computer Science.

Ben and his wife keep busy with traveling and spending time with their two young daughters. In his spare time, Ben also enjoys socializing with friends and working on his house.

Cheryl Mackinac joined Smart Data Solutions in 2021 as the Senior Director of Financial Accounting and Control, and she is responsible for all accounting and treasury operations. Cheryl has an extensive background in global accounting, financial systems, and financial, planning, and analysis roles. Prior to joining SDS, Cheryl spent 5 years at 3M, 5 years at Imation Corporation (two of which she spent in the Netherlands) and 19 years at Thomson Reuters.

Cheryl earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Minnesota State, Mankato and her MBA from Carlson School of Management in Finance and Strategic Management, where she also earned her CPA and CMA.

In her free time, Cheryl enjoys spending time with her family and their dog, Eddie. Her hobbies include golfing, traveling, and spending time at the cabin.

During her tenure with Smart Data, Kristine has worked her way up to her current role and has been a vital part to the organization. When Kristine started, Smart Data consisted of approximately 40 employees and just under 100 clients. Today, Smart Data has nearly 400 employees and 500+ clients.

Kristine is responsible for all finance operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reporting. She also oversees all human resource functions for employees at our five SDS facilities, including payroll, benefits, recruitment, and on-boarding.

As a proud graduate of The University of Minnesota, Kristine received her bachelor’s degree in Economics.

As the current Director of HR, Dana is responsible for talent acquisition, establishing onboarding programs, benefits planning and renewals, promoting growth and retention for current employees, and policy compliance. Dana’s strengths include forward-thinking, building strong collaborative teams, and change management.

Before joining SDS, Dana worked as the Director of People and Culture at Siteimprove, overseeing all aspects of HR, including the employee life cycle, employee relations, HR policies and programs, talent acquisition, and total rewards. He started his career with JMS and Associates at the age of 19. From accounting, data entry to the mailroom, Chuck quickly touched every single part of the business, ultimately serving as President & Owner.

Chuck most notably brings his demonstrated experience with people and relationships to the SDS team. This skill proved to be integral in expanding the foundational services offered by JMS and Associates. After observation of the many restraints that clients were under, Chuck guided a team of Subject Matter Experts to get smart and offer new, innovative solutions that would help combat those challenges. Client partners may initially engage JMS for a specific need, but after experiencing the trained level of partnership, clients expanded their engagement.

Outside of the workplace, Chuck enjoys fitness, spending time boating, traveling, and golfing. Really, anything to stay as active as possible.

Daniel Feng joined Smart Data Solutions in 2022. Prior to joining SDS, he was the President of JMS and Associates since 2009, where he helped to advance the organization through strategic leadership and development. His previous work experience includes working at DTE Energy in the IT and SCM department as a Global Buyer.

Daniel earned his BA at East China Normal University studying psychology and later went on to earn his MEd, MS, and MBA at Wayne State University in Sports Measurement, Electric Control and Computer Engineering, and International Business, respectively.

In his free time, Daniel enjoys staying active with golf, basketball, jogging, and working out.

Daniel Feng joined Smart Data Solutions in 2022. Pat Bollom
Co-Founder

Pat Bollom has been a co-founder of Smart Data Solutions since its inception in 2001. Prior to Smart Data, Pat was a principal at Harbinger Partners, a local IT consulting firm that focused on object-oriented development, data warehousing, and project management. After taking Harbinger to $9M within two years, Pat joined John with the Smart Data endeavor. Pat was an integral part of another Information Technology company prior to Harbinger and managed all sales and marketing efforts while assisting with revenue generation. In his 5 years at that firm, he was essential in building the company from $1.5M in revenue to $7M.

After graduating from St. Cloud State University with an undergraduate degree in Marketing, Pat earned his MBA from The University of Minnesota. Pat has also pursued other specific education and training in areas of E-business and healthcare. Pat is an active member of Vistage and a graduate of The Leadership St. Paul program. Pat has also earned his Silver Triangle Award for teaching Junior Achievement.

Pat and his wife enjoy spending time with their two children and he also enjoys spending time boating, hunting, playing tennis, and actively participating in local charities.

John Prange
Co-Founder

In this role, John leveraged his IT knowledge to streamline claims functions. Under John’s leadership, HRM realized both improved quality and reduced cost. During his tenure at HRM John recognized the market’s need for a more automated and cost-effective approach to claim acquisition. This prompted him to found Smart Data Solutions.

John graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. He later earned his MBA with an IT concentration from the Carlson School of Management. John is also an active member of the Vistage.

In his spare time, John enjoys spending time with his family including his two children. His hobbies include skiing, biking, and spending time at his cabin.
