Medical Coding Specialist

Looking to the future, Smart Data Solutions has ambitious growth plans for the next few years and is currently seeking a Medical Coding Specialist to join our team!

This is a contract position. Contract length: 3 months.

The Medical Coding Specialist is a contracted position that contributes to Smart Data Solutions product development involving clinical documentation.

What you’ll be doing:

• Review, analyze, and index medical records according to established guidelines.
• Analyze and extract relevant information from medical records, including patient demographics, diagnoses, treatments, procedures, and medications.
• Ensure proper identification, classification, and organization of medical records for entry into medical record corpus.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of medical records in accordance with privacy regulations and organizational policies.
• Consistently apply medical record labels throughout variable medical record formats.
• Participate in product design and enhancement discussions, leveraging expertise to improve the product.

What we’re looking for:

Required skills:

• Medical coder with 3+ years’ experience
• Certification from recognized local credentialing authority
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Knowledge of privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
